Christmas Shopping Navy Chief Style

Today I'm thinking of my long ago departed shipmate Chief Storekeeper Bob Chamberlain. Bob was an expert on old filmography and would absolutely annihilate anyone playing the Silver Screen Trivial Pursuits game against him. At this time every year we'd meet at the Fleet Branch 290 for a refreshing beverage and then head to the Mall for Christmas shopping which usually involved a visit to one store, a trip to Houlihan's for a peppermint schnapps or two, a visit to another store, and so on through the afternoon. We bought some pretty imaginative gifts during those trips. Bob's been gone more than 30 years but I still remember those safaris.
